Gramarye

GRAM-uh-ree, rhymes with memory: an old English word for learning and hidden knowledge.

A personal AI for the Mac, iPhone and iPad that keeps everything on your own devices: every conversation you have with any model, the documents it writes for you, the decisions you have settled and a portrait of who you are. You choose the provider, you hold the key, and nothing you write passes through us.

An archive that remembers

Every conversation is saved on your Mac the moment it happens, and on your other devices through your own iCloud if you choose. Ask something, and the assistant quietly looks through your past conversations, the documents it has written and your standing decisions, and brings the relevant passages along, each labelled with where it came from. You never have to reintroduce a subject.

Two indexes do the finding: one by words, one by meaning, so a question about resting dough can find a conversation that only ever said proofing. The meaning index is built by a small language model that ships inside the app and runs on your own Mac. Nothing is downloaded, and nothing is sent anywhere to build it.

Any provider, your own key

Gramarye has no model of its own. It works with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Mistral and DeepSeek on an API key you hold, so you pay the provider directly and we add nothing on top. Apple's own models answer with no key and no bill on a Mac, iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence turned on, and a model running on your own Mac through Ollama or LM Studio keeps every word at home.

Leave the model on Auto and the newest model from your chosen provider answers; pick one and it stays picked. Whatever is answering, your assistant speaks under its own name and, asked what it runs on, says so plainly. Every reply's cost is written in a ledger you can read, and a household's owner can set a monthly cap for each account.

Your Portrait and your Canon

The Canon holds the decisions you have settled. Promote a passage, or state a decision in your own words, and the assistant treats it as your current position, quoting it ahead of everything else and never mistaking an old draft for it. Your Portrait is the other half: who you are, what you value and how you tend to choose, kept in nine areas of life that you switch on one by one. Health and family start off, and off means nothing is kept or read.

Both learn from your own words, and when Gramarye is not sure, it asks rather than guesses. Everything either one holds lives on your disk, in your archive, where you can read every line of it. Other companies build a picture like this on their servers, for advertisers. This one is built for you.

A household on one copy

A household is the accounts kept together on one Mac, or on an iPhone or iPad that began without one: the owner, the members and any account for a child. Each has its own archive, its own devices, its own keys and its own spending. The owner sets a monthly cap for each account, chooses which models a child's account may use, and can supervise it. Share a conversation or a project with someone in the household and they read a copy, which you can stop at any time.

On every device you own

The iPhone and iPad carry the whole app, paired to your Mac or kept in step through your iCloud. A borrowed screen can reach your conversations through a browser over Tailscale, for chat alone. Dictate instead of typing, ask Siri a question or hand it a decision, or say "Hey Gramarye" across the room on the Mac. And when you say "remind me Thursday", Gramarye drafts the reminder, the email, the note, the event or the message, and your own app holds Send.

Pictures, documents and files

Every conversation can make a picture, and the Art Room is the place where making them is the point, with the maker's price in view. The assistant writes documents you can save in eight formats or file into a folder of your choosing, and it reads the files in that folder when you ask. Attach a document or a photo to a message and it is read on the spot.

Private by design

No analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no crash reports. The app checks for an update only when you press the button. A private conversation can be erased when you close it, leaving no trace on any device, or kept apart from everything the app learns. What leaves your device, and where it goes, is written down on one page: Gramarye and your privacy.

Your history comes with you

If you used Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini before, their exports come into the archive, where they are searchable and the assistant can draw on them. Everything can leave again as plainly as it came: export it all in open formats readable without Gramarye. Backups are made on their own, every day the archive changed, as plain zip files into a folder you choose. Moving to a new Mac is one press on the new Mac, with the old one open.

Where it stands

Gramarye is being tested privately before its release on the App Store for the Mac, iPhone and iPad. It will be free to download, with fourteen free days to try everything; after that, a licence for the device that keeps your household, Personal or Family, bought once or by subscription. Prices will be announced at release. Questions reach us at support@gramarye.ai, and the support page answers the common ones.
