Orogeny

Orogeny LLC is an independent software company in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It makes Gramarye, a personal AI for the Mac, iPhone and iPad that keeps everything you write on your own devices.

The name

Orogeny is the geologists' word for the making of mountains: pressure applied slowly, over a long time, raising something that lasts. It is how we try to make software. One small company, one product, built carefully and meant to be kept for years rather than replaced next season.

How we work

Five commitments run through everything we make. They are not a policy we adopted afterwards; they are the design.

• Your data is yours. What you write stays on your own devices and, if you choose, in your own iCloud. There is no Orogeny account and no Orogeny server holding your data.
• You bring your own key. Gramarye works with the AI provider you choose, on an API key you hold. You pay the provider directly, we add nothing on top, and we never see what you send.
• Nothing phones home. No analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, no tracking. The app checks for an update only when you press the button.
• Open formats. Everything Gramarye keeps can be exported, and every file it writes can be read without the app. A backup is a plain zip.
• The app proposes; you decide. Nothing is sent, shared or deleted for good without your click, and every outcome is recorded where you can read it.

What we make

Gramarye is a personal AI and an archive in one: every conversation you have with any AI model, your own documents, the decisions you have settled and a portrait of who you are, kept on your own machines and searchable by words or by meaning. It runs on the Mac, the iPhone and the iPad, and a household can share one copy, each person with an archive, keys and limits of their own.
